A San Mateo County Plan for North Fair Oaks will be reviewed and voted on by the Board of Supervisors Nov. 15. The draft plan proposes additional through traffic and land use changes that could result in extensive additional residential density and commercial traffic. Help Support Our Neighborhood Park!
Our North Fair Oaks Park, with its popular playground, is located on Edison at 9th Avenue. It’s the heart of our neighborhood and a great place to meet and play. Taking care of it helps ensure the safety and desirability of our homes. The park is funded and maintained entirely by you and your donations.
Send a Tax-Deductible Donation
We need to raise at least $6000 each year to keep our playground. This is the minimum amount to cover insurance, gardener, water, and general maintenance. This is NOT a County or City park. It belongs to us, and it’s up to us to maintain it.
Your donation of any size counts. The Fair Oaks Beautification Association, FOBA, is a non-profit (501c3) neighborhood organization. When you donate, a receipt will be sent to the address you provide if you request one. We are all volunteers, so there is no overhead. Your money will be used directly to maintain the park and provide a safe place for our children to play. Please send your donation to:

Volunteer to Help in Other Ways
Our costs are low because we pitch in. If you visit the park or just like knowing it’s there, you can contribute beyond donating cash. Sign up to do some light maintenance (sweeping, picking up) at the park for one month out of the year. It's easy to do and makes a big difference. Contact Katie Grandy at Kgrandy@colorfield.com. This year our only fundraising has been through the mail. We were unable to hold our annual fundraising event at the park because our FOBA Playground -- at 9th and Edison -- is "under construction" until the Hetch Hetchy water pipeline project has completed work in this area. We are patiently awaiting the rebuilding of our park. For updates on the pipeline project in our general area, check the blog at www.sfwater.org/penpl
